Luis Suarez continues to dominate Twitter on day 19 of the World Cup

Uruguay player Luis Suarez is continuing to dominate social media discussion of the World Cup after an unreserved apology to Italian player Giorgio Chiellini for his infamous bite racked up 66,000 retweets.In it Suarez concedes for the first time that Chiellini ‘suffered the physical result of a bite in the collision he suffered with me’. The shame player went on to promise that there will ‘never again’ be a similar incident.The tweet had the desired effect as Chiellini responded: “@luis16suarez It's all forgotten. I hope FIFA will reduce your suspension.”

Away from the off-pitch saga action continues to take place on the pitch with the Germany vs. Algeria game racking up 6.9m tweets with the full-time whistle confirming Germany’s win generating 148k tweets per minute.The France vs Nigeria match by contrast drew just 3.4m tweets during the game.
