Premium gin brand Bombay Sapphire has crowned a cocktail created by Parisian bartender Remy Savage as a world beater after a global competition drew more than 3,500 entries.

Savage collected the Bombay Sapphire 'World’s Most Imaginative Bartender Award 2014' for his cocktail ‘Paper Anniversary’, winning a prize fund to the value of £10,000, a precious sapphire stone pin and a place in the Cocktail Hall of Fame in the Bombay Sapphire Distillery at Laverstoke Mill in Hampshire, England.

The final stages of the competition, where 14 bartenders came together to take part in a six-day immersive experience in Hampshire and London, were captured by social video specialists RedPill, and the main film of the event can now be viewed on YouTube. RedPill also produced a series of daily 15 second videos for Instagram throughout the event.

Liam Corrigan, RedPill’s creative director, said: “It was fantastic to be part of such a truly unique and creative experience and one reflective of the Bombay Sapphire premium brand. Immense credit goes to Hill + Knowlton Strategies for arranging every component meticulously and to my crew for working against the clock to turn the social edits around each day.”

The winning cocktail featured 45ml Bombay Sapphire, 15ml of homemade paper syrup and a dash of salt solution, stirred with ice and strained into a cocktail glass.
