Samsung take their eye off the ball with good luck tweet to axed World Cup player
Ordinarily savvy social media stalwarts Samsung have taken their eye off the ball in their current World Cup campaign, after inadvertently tweeting a message of support to a player who had already been dropped. The South Korean firm unwittingly tweeted ‘Best of luck to Landon Donovan & the USA team’, not realising that the player in question would no longer be taking to the field for the team’s match against Portugal.Leaving red faces all-round the message was subsequently followed up with a tweet in support of Cristiano Ronaldo and the Portugal squad, lest mobile phone purchasers there feel neglected.
Cristiano Ronaldo is all set for today’s match. We wish Portugal team all the very best. #GALAXY11 pic.twitter.com/vAGBhJ08mR
