Yahoo is expected to expand its activities in the in Europe, Middle East and African markets with the appointment of Omnicom Media Global’s chief investment officer Marc Bignell.

Gignal will fill the void that Flint has left in Yahoo

Bignell is set to report to Yahoo's senior vice president of EMEA, Dawn Airey.

His appointment will aim to re-strengthen Yahoo’s commercial team following the departure of three-year Yahoo managing director James Wildman in February.

Furthermore, Stuart Flint, Wildman’s replacement, only lasted two weeks in the job before taking a role as sales director at rival tech giant, Microsoft, so Yahoo will be looking to keep Bignell longer.

The UK is now led by country commercial director Jason Talley, who first worked with Airey at Channel 5 and will now report to Brigitte Cantaloube, VP commercial director Yahoo EMEA as UK managing director.

A spokesperson for Yahoo told The Drum that any appointment would not be a commercial one within the UK and EMEA, as both are held by Cantaloube.
