Wednesday at Cannes Lions was a star-studded day of Courtney Love, Jared Leto, Ralph Fiennes and the writers of Game of Thrones, additionally the UK won a Press Grand Prix.The highlights included Sheryl Sandberg, CEO of Facebook, discussing the differences in perception of male and female leadership at the ‘Making Marketing Personal Again’ seminar.Next, Jared Leto talked about the creative thinking and craft in music, focusing on the importance of radio to provide local conversation in a globalised world at the ‘Clear Channel Media and Entertainment’ seminar.This was followed by R/GA’s ‘Building a billion dollar brand’ seminar where Beats’ Omar Johnson discussed the brand’s pathos and the morals which have led to its success.Compelling viewing was the ‘8th Annual Grey Music Seminar’ where Courtney Love was put through a word association exercise and discussed how the creative process kept her going throughout the years.There will be no more awards until the winners of the Film Craft, Films, Grand Prix For Good, Innovation, and the Titanium and Integrated Lions are announced in a final ceremony on Saturday night.And finally, The Drum's very own Stephen Lepitak was completely swamped with deadlines over in Cannes.
