O2 is pushing its sponsorship of the England rugby team with the launch of the first Once in a Lifetime competition, which will see O2 Priority offer fans the chance to join the team on pitch before the 2014 QBE Internationals.

From today (16 June) fans following @O2Sports on Twitter will receive five rugby-themed questions as a quick fire test of knowledge and speed.

Each day, the fan with the most accurate score and fastest time combined will be given the chance to take part in the grand final – finalists will need to register with O2 Priority in order to be eligible.

Five fans will then undertake a series of challenges at the England Training Camp in Loughborough in August, alongside players from England’s Elite Player Squad. The O2 Ultimate Fan, who will join the team for the National Anthem during the match, will be revealed on the finalists’ day.

Gareth Griffiths, head of sports sponsorship at O2, commented: “We’re passionate about rugby and we know our customers are too, so what better way of celebrating this than by rewarding the most dedicated fan with an unparalleled England Rugby experience. O2 Priority is all about giving our customers unique experiences and with O2 Ultimate Fan we’re offering a prize you can't get anywhere else.”

The competition runs each weekday at 7pm until 20 June and follows the launch of O2’s virtual reality England rugby experience, ‘Wear the Rose’.
