M&S is set to launch an exclusive men’s underwear and sleepwear collection, designed and modelled by David Gandy as the brand looks to ramp up clothing sales after a disappointing performance in 2013.

The 28 piece ‘David Gandy for Autograph’ collection will launch in London on 18 September and will be available in over 250 stores worldwide and online.

Scott Fyfe, director of menswear, Marks & Spencer, said: “Each year worldwide we sell over 14 million singles of men’s underwear and this collaboration brings together our market leading expertise with David’s unique viewpoint and eye for design and finishing, developed during his hugely successful career as a top male model. We are so excited about the launch of this collection on the 18 of September and I think our customers will love the exceptional quality and finishing that’s at the very heart of this range”.

Gandy is the current face of the M&S Collection Menswear brand.

The announcement comes after M&S last month reported a third consecutive fall in profit, with the brands general merchandise – which includes clothing – suffering a 1.4 per cent drop.
