Domino’s Pizza France and Belgium has had its database hacked by a group of cyber criminals who downloaded the details of over 600,000 customers.

The hackers, who works under the pseudonym Rex Mundi, carried out the attack last week and are now demanding that the fast food chain pays €30,000 (£24,000) by 8pm CET tonight or the data, which includes names, addresses, passwords and email address will be posted online, according to reports in The Telegraph.

Rex Mundi posted a tweet to consumers last week announcing that it had targeted Domino’s Pizza France and said that it had “offered Domino's not to publish your data in exchange for 30,000EUR”. The account has since been suspended.

In an interview with Dutch newspaper De Standaard Andre ten Wolde, the CEO of Domino's Pizza said: "We have already contacted our clients with advice. There are clear indications that something is broken on our server. The information contained in it is protected. Financial data, such as credit cards, has not been stolen.”

The company has filed a complaint with a court in Paris.
