Merial Animal Health, manufacturer of Frontline Spot On flea and tick protection, is investing heavily in a new mutli-channel summer campaign that aims to raise awareness of fleas and the importance of regular flea control to pet owners.

In a bid to increase footfall to retail stores and pharmacies the fully integrated campaign seeks to raise awareness and prompt monthly treatments to ensure continued protection for pets.

Following the release of a TV advertisement, created by Publics, which forms the core of the ‘Love Your Pet’ messaging Instinct PR has been tasked with implementing a complementary consumer PR and social engagement strategy, launching a nationwide search to discover the UK’s most dedicated pet owner using the hashtag #LoveYourPet on Facebook and Twitter.

“Merial’s investment in the Frontline Spot On Summer Campaign reflects our commitment to the welfare of animals,” said Roddy Webster, head of pets at Merial.

“Promoting ongoing awareness of pet parasites and the problems they can cause to pets and their owners is paramount to ensuring and encouraging best practice. And through social media we hope to educate and reward owners who go out of their way to give their pets the greatest care possible.”

A celebrity vet partnership with Joe Inglis and media partnership with Best Magazine will also run in tandem with the TV and social activity supported by print and digital marketing from ZenithOptimedia.

Campaign assets will run across TV, video on demand, mobile, digital, social media and veterinary and pharmaceutical media.
