The anti-independence campaign Better Together has initiated the latest element of its bid to generate a no vote for Scotland during the upcoming referendum, by changing its name during the final months to 'No Thanks.'

The campaign has confirmed to The Drum that it has chosen to adopt the slogan in a bid to pick up momentum while opposing the Yes Campaign being run by the SNP and Scottish First Minister, Alex Salmond.

The BBC has reported that the Better Together name will be retained formally, while No Thanks will be used on all marketing activity during the final phase of campaigning.

The referendum vote will take place on 18 September.
