Volkswagen UK is continuing its support of the UK’s independent cinemas with the launch of a new campaign.

The creative sees Volkswagen move away from its ‘See film differently’ platform of the last few years with the new line ‘Made for real life, not the movies’ makes its debut.

Created by adam&eveDDB, the work is based on the simple observation that though Volkswagen cars are great for everyday life, their safety features mean they’re maybe not the best cars for action movies.

The films – Bus, Chase and Explosion – were directed by Hollywood movie director Paul W.S. Anderson at MOB Films with each portraying classic action film storylines.

Of the work, Silke Anderson, communications manager at Volkswagen UK said: “We challenged adam&eveDDB to make our cars the centre of our long running cinema idents, which they did and more. We’re sure that the public will like ‘Made for real life' as we much as we do.”

Adam&eveDDB executive creative director of Volkswagen, Jeremy Craigen, added: “After years of the successful “See film differently” campaign, we were asked to find a closer way to link Volkswagen and their support of independent cinemas. “Made for real life” does that brilliantly, and still keeps the creative bar as high (or even higher) as before.”

Nikki Lindman and Toby Brewer wrote the ads which will run online as well as showing in independent cinemas across the country.
