CNBC has brought in John Armah to lead its digital strategy outside of the US.

As head of digital for international, he has also been tasked with managing CNBC’s product offering, overseeing digital video production and ensuring that content is integrated across the network’s linear and digital properties.

Armah – who has advised the likes of Sony, Unilever, Channel 4 and Ticketmaster on digital growth strategies as well as holding senior commercial roles at FT.com – replaces Deepanshu Bagchee who has been promoted to VP product and design for CNBC Digital.

Based in London, he reports to John Casey, SVP, international news and programming, who commented: “John’s digital experience will enable us to further develop our digital offering and continue to grow our influential and affluent audience around the world, no matter what platform they use to engage with our content.”

In April, CNBC posted 12.9 million uniques in the United States, up 23 per cent compared year-on-year and CNBC.com’s total unique video viewer volume reached a 3.4 million in April, up 84 per cent year-on-year.
