Followers of Vogue on Instagram can now buy items with a simple tap after the magazine introduced a shoppable feature on its account.

Using the LIKEtoKnow:IT platform, created by affiliate sales platform for publishers RewardStyle, followers of Vogue need to ‘heart’ an image, after which they will receive an email linking to the products featured.

To use the service, Instagram users need to be signed up to LIKEtoKnow:IT, which can be done via their Instagram account.

Vogue then receives commission on each item purchased via the platform.

The technology could pave the way for other fashion brands to acquire customers through the social media platform at a faster rate, including Matthew Williamson, which earlier this month revealed that Instagram has been “amazing” for securing new business.
