House of Fraser has become the latest brand to join Tesco Direct in the latest effort by the supermarket giant to stem declining profits.

The deal includes over 2,000 homewear products from brands sold by House of Fraser, including Linea and Pied a Terre.

“We want to offer our customers a fantastic shopping experience, however, whenever and wherever they choose to shop with us,” said Ian Caminsky, partnership director at Tesco. “And we want to reward them for their loyalty, so we’re really pleased that we’re now able to offer customers Clubcard points on all of their Tesco direct purchases.”

Andy Harding, executive director, multichannel for House of Fraser, said the partnership was “an exciting opportunity”.

“We bring over 160 years of department store retail experience, so there is huge potential to create a great working relationship between our businesses,” he said.

Last week, Tesco announced that it had come to an agreement with China Resource Enterprise to push the brand in the Chinese market.
