The chief strategy officer and executive partner at communications agency JWT, Tracey Follows, has announced a shock departure after just 18 months in the role.

Follows joined the agency in October 2012 from VCCP where she spent three years as executive planning director, and is expected to leave at the end of the summer.

She announced her decision to leave JWT to the agency’s other executive partners Joseph Petyan, James Whitehead and Russell Ramsey, who sent out an email to staff saying: “Tracey has decided to leave JWT. We are very sorry about this, as she has been such a great part of the agency for the last 18 months. She has also been a brilliant partner to the three of us. Together we have built a really strong planning team.”

Follows previously served as head of consumer communications at BT, before returning agency-side to serve as planner on John Lewis at Lowe.
