Humour and lottery advertising don't normally go hand in hand, so it's a delight to see this spot which is not only genuinely amusing but bears repeat viewing.

Spoofing the epic vibe of popular TV and film series which are all myth and majesty, it features a gnomic guru atop a peak staring into the abyss of the future... and a dogged hiker who wants his help.

The music is suggestive of all kinds of earth-shattering revelations to come, but we're primed for something a little more deadpan because the hiker isn't kitted out in the usual garb of animal skins, shields and mad beardy hair. Instead he appears to have walked straight out of Black's in sensible boots and a nice little backpack; clean cut and clean shaven. Holding his mobile aloft as he scrambles up the rock, there's a combination of hope, eagerness and sheer greed on his face as he persistently makes his request.
