The Croatian National Tourist Board is preparing to launch a new website as part of its recently rolled out social media campaign, which encourages visitors to tweet, video and Instagram their holiday.

Re-named Share Croatia, the new site, which goes live on 1 June, will gather new tourist videos posted under the campaign hashtags of #LoveCroatia and #ShareCroatia on Facebook, Twitter, Instagram and Vine in real time, meaning travellers to Croatia could be “the faces” of the tourist board’s next video campaign.

The current YouTube video campaign, which was filmed by seven different tourists in Croatia, includes images it’s stunning of the country’s National Parks, coastline, historical cities and watersports.

Created by BBDO Zagreb, the 20, 30 and 60 second-long campaign videos aim to encourage more visitors to share their experiences of Croatia online.

“We’re really proud of our first social media campaign and believe it will go some way to introducing a whole new generation of travellers to the charms of Croatia. There’s a wealth of information about holidaying in Croatia, and our snappy video campaign featuring actual tourists will hopefully provide instant inspiration to those who are still undecided about where to go this summer,” said Tonko Rilović, UK and Ireland Director of the Croatian National Tourist Board.

The first four months of 2014 saw 21,557 Brits visit Croatia, up six per cent on the same period last year.
