England and Liverpool FC footballer Daniel Sturridge has become the latest sportsperson set to appear in a Subway advert, as part of the 'My Sub My Way' campaign.

The advert by McCann London will see Pele give the young Sturridge some footballing advice, before showing how this has helped the footballer get to where he is today.

Sturridge said: “I am excited to become the latest Subway Famous Fan, joining other great names who are at the top of their respective sporting fields, as well as my childhood idol Pele. As a footballer making sure I look after myself is important and I am proud to be partnering with the Subway brand to inspire the next generation to get more active in their everyday lives.”

The ad comes shortly after Subway became the official training food partner of Liverpool FC.

Manaaz Akhtar, regional marketing director for the Subway brand in Europe, commented, “We are thrilled to be working with an inspirational and talented sportsman like Daniel who is a true fan of the Subway brand.”

Sturridge will promote the Low Fat Chicken Teriyaki Sub in the ad.
