Ericsson announces twin managerial appointments

Ericsson has announced the appointment of two new senior vice presidents to oversee two newly created business units formed by splitting the existing networks division from 1 July.

Arun Bansal will head up business unit radio whilst Anders Lindblad will oversee business unit cloud and IP having been chosen for their leadership experience and technical expertise. Bansal currently heads up Ericsson’s south east Asia and Oceania region having clocked up a 20 year career at the firm whilst his colleague Lindblad carries out an identical role for the Middle East.

Hans Vestberg, president and CEO of Ericsson, said, "Both Arun and Anders are strong leaders with experience from large organizations. They have been successful in driving growth in very competitive environments. We are committed to maintain our leadership in radio technology while also building a strong position in the cloud and IP space as the market evolves to 5G. I am confident they have the right backgrounds and experience to lead the two new business units with their different business logics and growth opportunities."

Lindblad said, "Virtualization and cloud will fundamentally change the networks and ultimately the industry.
