At last week’s The Drum Marketing awards, Craig Inglis – marketing director at John Lewis – scooped the prize for marketer of the year.

The award comes as the brand celebrates its 150th anniversary with a series of events, including a rooftop garden and the creation of a coffee table book.

After beating off competition from brands such as Lego, ITV and Renault for his award, Inglis caught up with The Drum to discuss how the brand has worked to celebrate its anniversary.

“It’s a really, genuinely, multi-faceted campaign, both in paper, experientially and also in digital,” he enthused.

The nostalgic John Lewis ad, created by adam&eveDDB, was released two weeks ago.
