Swedish broadband firm unme.net isn’t lagging behind in this week’s Viral Video chart.

The internet provider has gone straight to the number one spot after conducting an experiment to demonstrate the effects of ‘living with lag’ in the real world.

Four participants were hooked up to an Oculus Rift virtual reality display unit and a single-board computer was programmed to adjust delay. For two days they were told to go about their business as usual and as you’d expect the effect is comical; there’s a pancake flipping disaster, a dance class catastrophe and a dizzying game of ping pong.

The video resonates with anyone who’s grappled with a slow internet connection. unme.net end the ad by asking ‘you wouldn’t accept lag offline so why do it online?’

That’s enough to put it above new contenders from Google Glass, The White House and FCB Brasil in this week’s chart.
