Schoolgirl Malala Yousafzai, who was shot by the Taliban for wanting an education, is the star of a new Indian mattress company ad, which shows her ‘bouncing back’ from being shot.

One of three in a series of ads for Kurl-On, believed to be created by Ogilvy & Mather’s Asia Pacific branch, the ad shows the schoolgirl getting shot in the face and recovering with an IV bag, before she ‘bounces back’ to win an award.

The other ads in the series show Ghandi being pushed off a train before ‘bouncing back’ and Steve Jobs being shoved out the door of Apple before he ‘bounces back’ to the role of CEO.It is currently unknown if the ads, designed by Chilean illustration firm Lamano Estudio, are running in print, or if they are spec ads.
