AOL hires StarcomMediavest’s John Baylon as head of UK and Europe trading

AOL has appointed Starcom Mediavest’s (SMG) John Baylon to head up trading in the UK and Europe.

His remit will be to drive relationships with major and independent holding companies and agency trading groups to bolster AOL’s position in the market.

At SMG he was most recently global digital trading director – a role he held more than five years. Prior to that he was digital director for two years and before that he was TV group director for four years.

He will report to AOL UK managing director Noel Penzer.

His appointment follows the UK launch of premium video platform AOL On, which saw it partner with Channel 4 News, ITN and Scripps Networks .

It has also upped its commitment to ad viewability, having partnered with Integral Ad Science.
