Transport for London (TfL) has charged Grayling with inspiring Londoners to cycle more, winning the account following a competitive pitch process.

Grayling will now develop and manage an interactive cycling roadshow for TfL that seeks to encourage cycling in London at major events such as Tour de France, Prudential RideLondon and the Tour of Britain this summer.

“London cycling has considerably increased since 2001– we are really excited to be working with Transport for London to harness this enthusiasm and get even more Londoners cycling more often and more safely,” said Rikki Butler, account lead at Grayling.

The cycling roadshow will aim to capture the attention of cyclists and non-cyclists alike and according to Butler “will be designed not just to entertain visitors but to have a wider impact on the behaviour of cyclists and potential cyclists. We want to ensure people are provided with the information and tools needed to overcome barriers to cycling in London.”

Grayling will also deliver TfL’s existing Barclays Cycle Hire Roadshow which aims to encourage more Londoners to use the scheme.

The development of both of these ventures are the first opportunities to come from the newly established Greater London Authority (GLA) and TfL Community Events Framework which offers community event and engagement services to TfL, The London Transport Museum and the GLA which also includes Crossrail, London Fire Brigade, the Metropolitan Police Service, The Royal Parks and London Legacy Development Corporation.
