Mary Curtis named new head of channel at UTV Ireland

Mary Curtis has been named as head of channel at UTV Ireland, a role which entails oversight of all programming content and leading the Irish team in developing the nascent channel.

Curtis previously worked for Irish state broadcaster RTE before departing in September 2013 to establish a consultancy organisations and businesses on public affairs and information.

John McCann, group chief executive of UTV Media plc said: "Mary brings a wealth of Irish television experience to UTV which will be invaluable as we finalise our plans for UTV Ireland. Working closely with Managing Director Michael Wilson, Mary will be responsible for planning the strategic direction of UTV Ireland.”

Curtis added: “I’m delighted to be part of this new chapter in Irish television. I look forward to working with the senior management team to deliver a compelling new viewing experience for the audience with UTV Ireland.”
