Homebase owner Home Retail Group has expanded its Home of Colour paint range into the garden as paint sales are predicted to rise 1.5 per cent by 2015.

Garden Colour extends Homebase’s existing Home of Colour range, which is positioned as a credible, quality alternative to higher priced brand, with the pack, designed by R Design, aiming to confidently take this positioning outdoors.

The six-colour range is shown with colour chips stickered onto a plant marker with simple, functional icons used to convey product messages. The design created a lock-up between the Home of Colour logo and the new Garden Colour name and flower symbol.

Design director at R Design, Scott Keightly, commented: “We used a simple wooden shiplap background fringed by green foliage to indicate the transformational effect of the Garden Colour range on garden buildings and fences.”

R Design has also reworked the retailer’s Timbercare range of protective timber treatment products, with both ranges to appear in stores during spring 2014.
