Fed up with the static displays imprinted on dumb tea and coffee mugs up and down the land an enterprising Finnish coffee roaster and marketing company have taken it upon themselves to shake up the market with a hi-tech internet enabled mug that changes its display every time its filled.

The concept takes advantage of the latest e-ink technology and a surreptitious stack of electronics embedded in the base of the cup to harness the heat energy of the contained beverage to power a small display which can continually flip to new images.

Devised by Paulig in concert with TBWA/Helsinki the drink container can even be connected to a mobile app to share its artistic output with friends and family.

Sadly the product is still in the testing phase and isn’t yet available to buy but is expected to make an appearance next year.
