AOL On UK signs up Emirates airline for advertising campaign on video platform
AOL On has signed up the Emirates airline for an advertising campaign on the recently-launched UK version of the video platform.
Deal: Emirates will advertise on AOL's video platform
The deal was brokered by Havas Media and will feature stars such as Cristiano Ronaldo and Pele on pre-roll advertising to promote Emirates’ first class and business class services. The campaign will run across desktop, mobile, the AOL On app and the AOL On Connected TV app.
The deal follows the launch of AOL On in the UK in March following launches in the US and Canada. Channel 4, ITN and Scripps Networks International were among the first to partner with the platform, which distributes content through a network of publishers including Trinity Mirror, TalkTalk and TV Guide, as well as AOL brands like the Huffington Post.
Noel Penzer, managing director at AOL UK, said: “As digital video continues to grow and dominate all screens, we’re very excited to be launching a campaign with Emirates that runs across the entire AOL On proposition.
“Video is central to AOL’s strategy globally and having a brand such as Emirates on board is testament to the fantastic appetite advertisers and consumers have for premium content.”
While primarily a short form video service, AOL recently announced its first investment in long form content after commissioning an original series charting the lives of nine New Yorkers, which will launch later this year.
Popular series already produced by AOL On include Candidly Nicole, starring celebrity Nicole Ritchie, which resulted in it being commissioned into a broadcast show for VH1, due to launch in July.
