Jimmy Savile abuse victims are being urged to come forward via a newspaper advertising campaign offering compensation payments from the Savile estate.

The advice features in today’s edition of The Times and Daily Mirror alongside local papers on the Channel Islands and has been sanctioned by the High Court following agreement between the executor of Savile’s estate, NatWest, together with lawyers for alleged victims, the BBC and the NHS.

Thus far some 140 people have claimed to have suffered sexual abuse at the hands of the predatory entertainer with the Metropolitan Police recording 200 separate offences.

Claimants are being advised to register by 3 June to claim as much as £60k in compensation from the Savile estate, BBC and NHS although individual claims will continue to be reviewed by lawyers for at least 12 months.

Savile passed away in October 2011 at the age of 84 before being unmasked as a paedophile.
