The MailOnline is trumpeting its highest ever daily unique visitors total in the UK after 6.3m readers logged in to sample its wares on 13 March, a hefty 10.1 per cent increase on its previous best day.

This made it the platforms first ever day with more than 6m unique daily unique visitors from the UK, topping the previous record set in November 2013 by over half a million.

It capped a stellar month for the populist title which garnered close to 180m global monthly unique visitors over the month as a whole, representing a year on year increase of 59.7 per cent.

In the UK specifically MailOnline notched up 56.2m monthly unique visitors in March, equivalent to month on month growth of 5.8 per cent. This rate of increase was slightly ahead of global views which hit 38.7m, a 4.8 per cent month on month jump.

Growth was driven partly by the newspapers iPhone and Android apps which both recorded new monthly and average daily unique visitor records in March, hitting more than a million unique visitors on the former and 800,000 on the latter – equivalent to month on month growth of 5.3 and 8.4 per cent respectively.
