London Wasps Rugby Football Club and Dailymotion, the video platform, have inked a deal as part of an overhaul to the sports team’s website and content production.

The club will house a Wasps TV channel on its new website, and content created for the channel will be fed into Dailymotion for fans to share.

“Our new website will deliver a great new experience for our fans with Wasps TV providing regular new content. Working with Dailymotion allows us to take high-quality video to fans around the world, as well as those that never miss a match,” explained Jeremy Wilton, chief operating officer at Wasps RFC.

Initially, fans will have access to a back catalogue of 175 videos including interviews with coaches and players, training clips and commentary on match highlights, but the team plans to add new clips every couple of days.

Some of the content produced and used on the website and Dailymotion will carry advertising.

Marc Eychenne, head of international content at Dailymotion, added that this was the first Aviva Premiership team to work in partnership with Dailymotion.
