Ad of the Day: Powerade - There’s Power in Every Game

Ahead of this year’s World Cup Powerade, the official sports drink chosen by FIFA, has unveiled its creative offering starring Spanish professional footballer Andrés Iniesta.

Created by Wieden+Kennedy Amsterdam the creative campaign includes TV commercials, print and OOH, documentary-style films, and a global digital activation that heroes real players.

Iniesta features as the face of the campaign with supporting stories from five amateur athletes from around the globe.

In addition to the glossy commercial (shown above) Powerade has also revealed the first in its documentary series celebrating American athlete Nicolai ‘Nico’ Calabria who was born with one leg. The short film (shown below) incorporates hours of home video footage weaved with live action to portray the raw and inspiring willpower of this young man.

The ambitious campaign launches in 40 markets worldwide ahead of the World Cup in Rio with the documentary streaming on Powerade’s YouTube channel and as a TV commercial in selected markets.
