Jony Ive given more say over the look and design of Apple products as Greg Christie resigns
As Greg Christie, who led Apple’s software design team, steps down, Jony Ive has been given more power.
Ive, who has been voted in the top ten of The Drum Designerati, is the senior vice president of design at Apple.
In his expanded role, he is set to take control of the team that designs iOS software, the company said in a statement.
Discussing Christie leaving the company after over 20 years, Apple said: “He has made vital contributions to Apple products across the board, and built a world-class Human Interface team which has worked closely with Jony for many years.”
In 2007 he was given The National Design Award for his work on the iPhone.
