Asda has furthered its partnership with Zappar, the augmented reality company, to create ‘The Easter Adventure Hunt’, an in-store game that challenges shoppers to find three Easter ‘friends’ hidden within stores.

Augmented reality enabled stickers will be placed in around 400 Asda stores which, when zapped using the Zappar app on smartphone or tablet, reveal a “hidden world” underneath the store floor.

The retailer will also be handing out iPads for shoppers without smartphones.

Max Dawes, partnerships director at Zappar, said: “It’s a testament to the results from previous campaigns that Asda wanted to work with us again. Each time we collaborate it gets better and better. We can't wait to see how shoppers respond to the activity this time.”

The event, which takes place from 10am-4pm on 12 April, follows on from previous augmented reality in-store events produced with Zappar and total brand experience agency Momentum Worldwide for Easter and Halloween last year.
