Betfair has launched an app that matches up users with their perfect-match horses ahead of Saturday’s Grand National.

App: Betfair has launched Equinder

The web-based ‘Equinder’ mobile app was inspired by dating app Tinder and matches users to a horse through an algorithm based on their details and likes. Users then swipe to accept or reject their matching horse and can begin placing their bets.

Harry Phillips, consumer PR manager at Betfair, said: “At Betfair, we consistently endeavour to create innovative and thrilling betting experiences for our customers, as well as attracting new users, and what better way to help people select their horse for the Grand National than creating a new Tinder style web app.

“We’ve seen how easy it is for people to find a stallion or a filly online, so we wanted to bring the same sense of fun and ease the National.”

In a nod to Tinder, the online betting company has also created its own profile on the service offering free bets.
