Quisma founder and CEO Ronald Paul has announced he is to step down as of 1 April, with Nils Roehrig and John Wittesaele from GroupM taking over as COO DACH and COO international respectively.

Roehrig, previously CEO GroupM Interactive Germany, will work alongside CFO EMEA Sascha Wittler and Johann Hermann, MD DACH, to build the business in German-speaking countries.

Paul founded Quisma in 2001 wirh Norman Nötzold in Munich and in 2007 GroupM took over the company incorporating it as an independent brand within its media network.

Paul thanked his “colleagues, companions, customers and partners” for their support over the last 13 years and GroupM investment chairman, Jürgen Blomenkamp, passed on his thanks to Paul for his “outstanding performance in the development and expansion of Quisma as a highly competitive international network”.

Paul’s decision to step down is motivated by his desire to spend more time with his family though he has said he will be back in the industry at a later stage in an entrepreneurial capacity.
