Taco Bell has unveiled a new ad, entitled ‘guess who love’s Taco Bell’s new breakfast?’, taking a cheeky poke at rival McDonald’s.

Taco Bell's ad agency, Deutsch LA, found around 400 men and women with the name Ronald McDonald, Ronnie McDonald or some variation of the name of the famous McDonald’s clown mascot, and filmed them eating Taco Bell while making comments such as "Mmm, real good" and "It has everything I like".

Set to air from today, the ad will promote the new breakfast range for the American chain, which includes items such as waffle tacos.

Taco Bell president Brian Niccol told Associated Press: "We like to do things with a wink and smile. We have a sense of humour."

Just in case the public get confused about the ad, it states that the Ronald McDonalds’ are “not affiliated with McDonald's Corporation and were individually selected as paid endorsers of Taco Bell Breakfast".
