Nokia has announced that the sale of its devices and patents businesses to Microsoft will be completed next month.

The transaction is expected to be finalised in April, subject to regulatory approval, it has told the Stock Market, although the deal has already received approval from the European Commission and the US Department of Justice.

The remaining authorities still to offer approval are the antitrust authorities in Asia, which are still reviewing, however both companies have stated their confidence that the sale will be completed.

The statement concluded; “Nokia reiterates that ongoing tax proceedings in India have no bearing on the timing of the closing or the material deal terms of the anticipated transaction between Nokia and Microsoft.”

The deal was initially announced in September 2013, said to be worth around $7.1bn.
