BuzzFeed has struck a deal with Whisper, the app which allows users to anonymously share secrets and gossip, which will give the news site access to content for possible articles.

According to the New York Times, no money will change hands over the deal, which will see 15 BuzzFeed writers search the Whisper app for possible articles. Whisper will also suggest ideas to BuzzFeed based on themes it sees developing on the app.

The Times added that if and when potential article fodder is found, Whisper will use its internal search engines to help Buzzfeed find more information on the subject.

“BuzzFeed is just a natural partner for Whisper,” Whisper editor-in-chief Neetzan Zimmerman said. “It is teeming with the sort of content we will be good at.”

Zimmerman joined Whisper from Gawker, another website known for its viral content, and has said that the partnership with BuzzFeed is ‘not exclusive’.

Whisper and BuzzFeed have previously teamed up for several articles, including “23 Disgusting Roommate Stories That Will Destroy Your Faith In People”.
