CHI & partners has won the £55 million advertising account for discount shopping brand Argos following a competitive pitch.

The pitch came down to a two-way decision between CHI and Now.

The pitch, managed by AAR, has been ongoing since December.

“We saw some really exciting ideas on how we can reposition Argos as a more universally appealing, digitally led business,” said MD Stephen Vowles.

“We are really looking forward to continuing our strong relationship with the CHI & Partners team to make these ideas a reality.

Melissa Robertson of Now was magnanimous in defeat.

“We were thrilled to get down to the last two on such a competitive pitch,” she said.

“Argos have been great clients to work with, but huge congratulations have to go to CHI for retaining the account.”

The brief for the pitch was to reinvent Argos as a digital retail leader.
