A weekly video round-up of the political news, fronted by Huffington Post UK's political director Mehdi Hasan, has attracted more than 25,000 video plays on the AOL player, or over 3,000 views per edition.

The series uses an irreverent tone and satirical take on weighty political issues, with the hope to get more people interested in politics if it is handled in ‘bite sized’ form.

Hasan said: "From having my boss pour a glass of water over me, to being made to wear a hi-vis jacket and hard hat, I've had fun filming 'Mehdi's Minute' over the past few weeks and trying to digest the week's top political stories into just 60 seconds. I'm also delighted it's now going to become a regular feature of HuffPost UK's award-winning output."

The videos, created by the HuffPost UK editorial team and produced by AOL’s in-house video team, will now become a permanent feature on the site, following their success.
