JWT has announced a yearlong programme of events and activations highlighting the agency’s pioneering spirit and rich history around the world as part of its 150th anniversary celebrations.

“JWT’s 150th is much more than just a birthday. This is a platform to galvanize our employees around our pioneering roots and spirit of inventiveness, and to share our mission with our clients and the world,” explained chairman and CEO Bob Jeffrey.

Kicking off the anniversary celebrations Jeffery and JWT Worldwide global president Gustavo Martinez have unveiled a commemorative logo, reviving the original historical mark from the agency’s early visual branding: the owl and the lamp.

Additional celebrations planned for the year include ‘The Commodore Challenge’, an internal contest searching for three of the most pioneering ideas for the world with cash prizes; a Cannes seminar on pioneering and innovation; the Helen Lansdowne Resor Scholarship for female creatives; Pioneering Influencer Series with clients, alumni and industry icons; a historical content series highlighting JWT’s first and best stories from around the globe and JWTIntelligence 150th initiative.

Martinez added: “Our strategy for growth in the year ahead as a company will also draw its strength from our spirit of pioneering.”

In addition to celebrating its past JWT is also planning for its future with plans afoot to reinvent and bolster its digital capacities with special focus on emerging markets.
