Seven Seas marketing director Helen Taylor moves agency-side to Elmwood

Seven Seas marketing director Helen Taylor is to join global brand design consultancy Elmwood as its client services director based within its headquarters in Leeds.

Taylor has spent 15 years client-side working within the FMCG sector, including stints at Warburtons, McVities, United Biscuits, Young’s Seafood and most recently healthcare brand Seven Seas.

The appointment follows a number of recent client-side and non-agency hires to Elmwood’s senior team, including ex-Kimberly-Clark marketing director Jon White now MD on Elmwood’s London studio; Phil Ore, former head of marketing at Nokia, now MD of the Melbourne studio, and MD of Elmwood’s New York base Julian Glassman, who prior to joining held the role of management consultant at Scott Madden.

Of the appointment, David Godber, CEO of Elmwood said: “I am delighted to welcome Helen to the Elmwood team. Her real-world experience of the pressures clients face in challenging and competitive market, together with her wealth of knowledge and her track-record of delivering award-winning brand strategies can only enhance Elmwood’s strategic capability.”

At Seven Seas, part of Merck Pharmaceuticals, Taylor commissioned Elmwood to work on the redesign of its flagship Cod Liver Oil portfolio.

Taylor commented: “Having worked with Elmwood on a number of important projects during my career, I always valued the company’s dedication, effectiveness and creativity in the work they do…I am very excited to now be part of the team, to not only work across exciting brands and sectors, but to utilise my client-side knowledge and bring it to the agency.”

Her appointment is hoped to bring the agency insight into the challenges faced by brand owners, along with expertise in brand innovation, re-positioning and new product development.
