Professor Stephen Hawking has lent his voice to Save the Children’s latest TV ad creative which marks the third anniversary since the start of the Syrian crisis.

Created by adam&eveDDB, the ad features images of Syrian children with a voiceover from Hawking verbalising the children’s real-life stories from Syria.

Of his involvement Hawking said: “What’s happening in Syria is an abomination, one that the world is watching helplessly from a distance. We must work together to end this war and to protect the children of Syria. I am giving my voice to the children of Syria to raise awareness of their suffering and to raise money to provide food, shelter and medicines.”

It’s hard not to be moved by Hawking’s words when you realise what these young children have had to face, no one should have to grow up like this.

The ad will debut this evening (Friday 14 March) with a high-profile launch spot during ITV News at 10pm.
