Touchstone Consulting Limited and former CTO of Ofcom and BT Retail, Peter Ingram; Omidyar Network partner, Stephen King and Piers Linney, co-CEO of Outsourcery plc are just a few of the names appointed to Labour’s independent Advisory Board for Digital Britain 2015 review.

Launched today by Chi Onwurah MP, Labour’s Shadow Cabinet Office Minister, Digital Britain 2015 is Labour’s digital government review which will culminate in a published update of the party’s 2009 Digital Britain report.

Led by Onwurah and Michael Dugher MP, Shadow Minister for the Cabinet Office, Digital Britain 2015 will look at how digital can improve the effectiveness and efficiency of people-powered public services and develop a framework for powering digital government and putting people back in control of their relationship with the government, including what happens to their data.

Onwurah explained “Labour’s Digital Government Review will set out clear goals for a digital agenda that will improve services and empower citizens whilst being efficient and cost effective. Under the guidance of our Advisory Board and with contributions from a wide range of stakeholders across the country, the review will deliver a framework for transforming digital government together with concrete policy proposals to make digital services work for the many.”

Joining Ingram, King and Linney on the Advisory Board are William Perrin, founder of ‘Talk About Local’; Liquid Steel director and ex-CIO of European Oil Trading at BP, Cho Oliver; Vicki Shotbolt founder and CEO of The Parent Zone; Open Data Institute technical director, Jeni Tennison; and Graham Walker, Go ON UK CEO.
