Peugeot has paired up with Facebook to launch a digital campaign, Kick It To Brazil, which the car manufacturer says is to “advance its social and environmental responsibility goals in Brazil”.

The football-themed campaigned, which launched yesterday (6 March) in Paris, will follow the journey of a football as it travels across more than 30 countries in 100 days, aided by a mix of bicycles, planes and Peugeot vehicles.

Billed as “an international adventure of social responsibility and solidarity”, the brand is inviting fans to choose what happens to the football and share their experiences on Facebook, Instagram or the Kick It To Brazil website. A short video clip will be generated and uploaded by Peugeot on Facebook each day.

As part of the campaign, Peugeot is promoting the “One kiss, One Tree” project, where for each image that is uploaded of a person kissing the football, the car manufacturer will contribute to its Peugeot-ONF Forestry Carbon Sink project in Brazil by planting additional trees.

The football will finish its travels on 12 June, 2014 in the Brazilian Amazon, the home of the carbon sink project.
