STV has released its end of year figures, with non-broadcast earnings increasing to 19 per cent in 2013 through growth in STV Productions and digital activities.

With overall revenue up nine per cent to £112.1m, STV has reported digital revenues up 23 per cent in growth areas and digital operating profit up 76 per cent to £3m.

STV attributed some of this growth to long-form catch up viewing, which was up 125 per cent year on year, while classified ads, display and mobile also counted as growth areas.

As well as that, the figures show that overall, digital revenue accounted for £7.5m.

Rob Woodward, CEO at the Scottish broadcaster, said: “This is a strong set of financial and operational results underpinned by confirmation of broadcast licences being renewed which provides long-term stability and continuity for investors and stakeholders. We have delivered further significant reduction in net debt and through strong growth in our digital and productions business; we delivered 19 per cent of earnings from non-broadcast activities and are on track to meet our 33 per cent target by the end of 2015.”

The company has also suggested that its ‘mobile-first’ plans have taken a major step forward, reporting 77 per cent of page views coming from mobile devices.
