Regent’s University London has announced that it is to host a digital marketing network event to tackle the marketing technology skills gap, by bringing marketing experts and students together on campus.

This dovetails with the launch of a new Msc in digital marketing & analytics course, which aims to meet these challenges by producing graduates who are equipped to harness current marketing trends and technologies – specifically digital, technical and quantitative analytics skills that the sector currently lacks.

Lorna Walker, programme director at Regent’s University London’s Business School, said: “By 2018 the US is predicted to lack around 1.5 million managers and analysts with sufficient technical and digital know-how to make effective decisions, and the picture in the UK is similar. Big data, web analytics, mobile, content marketing and social media are the future of marketing but they are also the most difficult skills for which to recruit. This presents a challenge for both marketing employers and educators.”

The digital marketing network event will take place on the 25 March from 19:00.
