In a change from its ‘Make a house a home’ message, Homebase is looking to promote personalisation this spring with ‘Make Your House Your Home’, created by Leo Burnett.

Gone are the iconic shipping containers, replaced with a family who are displayed as having a very bland decorating scheme.

The family then strip the walls to find colour and patterns to suit them, while a second advert shows brightly coloured flowers popping up as the family pulls out weeds from the garden.

Jo Kenrick, Homebase marketing director, said: “Our homes are really special and personal places that reflect our lives. We understand that our customers want to make their homes their own, no matter how big or small the project, and create somewhere they can enjoy with their family and friends.

“Helping everyone live in a home they love is at the heart of everything we do at Homebase and we hope the new TV advert, along with our great range of products and services in store, will inspire customers to make their house a home.”

The ad looks to promote the fact that your house is not really ‘yours’ until you’ve decorated it.
