Jyrobike has appointed Clearbox Communications to manage its PR activity in the UK and Ireland ahead of a Kickstarter crowdfunding campaign.

Appointment: Clearbox will handle PR for Jyrobike

The campaign begins in May and the brand will initially launch a children's product with a target of raising $100,000 through crowd-sourced funding, with plans to launch an adult product in 2015. The news follows the appointment last month of Search Laboratory to handle the Jyrobike’s global search marketing and social media activity ahead of the campaign.

Jyrobike, previously known as Gyrobike before a re-brand at the beginning of 2014, uses gyroscopic technology to build auto-balance bicycles.

Anna Morris, managing director of Belfast-based Clearbox, said: “We’re looking forward to working alongside Jyrobike team to deliver a compelling consumer engagement campaign and driving bids through crowd-sourced funding.

“The concept of using gyroscopic technology to essentially replace the need for stabilisers is one which will revolutionise how children learn to ride bikes. We’re certainly very excited to be a part of the Jyrobike revolution.”

Clearbox has been tasked with building Jyrobike’s profile and brand values of “people, invention and freedom” following it’s re-brand.
